The short answer

Content works well in ChatGPT when it answers a specific question directly, includes concrete facts and is organised so each section stands on its own. Replace vague claims with specifics, use questions as headings, and put the answer first. The examples below show what that looks like in practice.

Rewrite 1: The vague intro

Before: “Welcome to BrightSmile, where passion meets excellence in dental care. We are committed to your wellbeing.”

After: “BrightSmile is a family dental clinic in central Utrecht offering check-ups, fillings, children’s dentistry and teeth whitening. We accept new patients and are open until 20:00 on weekdays.”

Why it works: it states what, where, for whom and when, so it can answer “family dentist in Utrecht open late”.

Rewrite 2: The hidden answer

Before: a 600-word blog post about “the journey of choosing flooring” that mentions costs only in the last paragraph.

After: a heading “How much does oak flooring cost to install?” followed by “Installed oak flooring usually costs between €X and €Y per square metre, depending on board width, finish and subfloor condition.” Then the detail.

Why it works: the passage can be lifted as a complete answer. (Use your real price range.)

Rewrite 3: The feature list with no context

Before: “Features: automation, integrations, reporting, security.”

After: “Automatically sends invoice reminders after 7, 14 and 30 days. Connects with Shopify and WooCommerce. Exports VAT reports for Belgium and the Netherlands.”

Why it works: specifics match specific questions such as “invoicing tool that sends automatic reminders and works with WooCommerce”.

Rewrite 4: The one-sided comparison

Before: “Unlike other tools, we are simply the best choice.”

After: “Choose us if you need multi-currency invoicing and Dutch support. Choose Tool X if you need payroll in the same app, which we don’t offer.”

Why it works: balanced comparisons are more credible and match “X vs Y” questions. See product comparisons for AI answers.

Rewrite 5: The FAQ nobody asked

Before: “Q: Why are we the leading provider? A: Because of our values.”

After: “Q: Can I cancel my subscription mid-month? A: Yes. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the billing period.”

Why it works: it answers a real customer concern in one sentence.

Rewrite 6: The location page with no local detail

Before: “We proudly serve Leuven and all surrounding areas with quality service.”

After: “We repair washing machines in Leuven, Heverlee, Kessel-Lo and Wilsele, usually within two working days. Call-out is free within the ring road.”

Why it works: named areas and concrete terms match local questions far better than generic phrases.

A quick editing checklist

  • Does each section start with its answer?
  • Would a stranger know what you do, where and for whom after two sentences?
  • Are numbers, places, names and dates included where relevant?
  • Is every claim true and checkable?
  • Is the text in plain HTML, not inside images?
  • Is there a visible “last updated” date on pages with changing facts?

Don’t overdo it

Avoid stuffing pages with repeated phrases like “best plumber Antwerp best plumber”. It reads badly for people and adds nothing for AI systems. Write naturally, for a customer, with clear structure. For broader guidance, see best practices for LLM content structure.
