Content structured well for LLMs puts the answer first, uses descriptive headings, keeps each section focused on one idea and presents facts in lists or tables. It also loads as clean HTML text, so AI crawlers can read it without running scripts. Use the checklist below to review your pages.
Checklist part 1: the opening
- Is the main question answered in the first two or three sentences? AI assistants often quote the opening of a relevant section.
- Does the opening name the subject clearly? Write “Keboost’s Starter plan costs €29 per month”, not “Our entry plan is affordable”.
- Is the H1 a plain description of the topic? Clever titles are hard to match with a user’s question.
Checklist part 2: headings and sections
- Each H2 describes what the section answers, ideally phrased like a question or a clear label (“How long does installation take?”).
- Each section covers one idea. If a section needs three subheadings, consider splitting it into its own page.
- Headings follow a logical order: H2 for main sections, H3 for parts inside them. No skipped levels.
- Paragraphs are short, around two to four sentences.
Checklist part 3: facts and data
- Prices, specifications, opening hours and service areas sit in lists or tables, not hidden in long paragraphs.
- Numbers include units and dates (“delivery in 3–5 working days within France”).
- The same fact matches everywhere: website, directory profiles and social pages.
- Comparisons use a table with one row per option and the same columns for each.
Checklist part 4: context and trust
- The page shows who wrote or reviewed it and why they are qualified.
- Claims link to a source or are clearly your own opinion.
- A “last updated” date is visible on pages with time-sensitive information.
- Related pages are linked so a reader, or an AI crawler, can follow the topic.
Checklist part 5: technical basics
- Main text appears in the HTML source, not only after JavaScript runs.
- Important content is not locked inside images or PDFs alone.
- The page is not blocked in robots.txt for the AI crawlers you want to allow.
- Schema markup (such as Organization, Product or FAQPage) matches the visible text. For more on this, see schema markup for AI.
A quick before-and-after
Before: a service page opens with three paragraphs about the company’s history, lists prices only in a downloadable PDF and uses the heading “Our Promise”. After: it opens with “We repair commercial refrigerators in Lyon, usually within 24 hours, from €90 per visit”, has a price table, and uses headings like “Areas we cover” and “What a repair visit includes”. The second version is far easier for an AI assistant to use when someone asks for a fridge repair service nearby.
How to use this checklist
Start with your ten most important pages: home, pricing, main service or product pages and the pages that answer buyer questions. Fix the opening and the facts first, since those have the most effect. Then work through headings and technical basics. Keep a note of what you changed and when, so you can compare it with how AI answers shift over the following weeks. For a deeper look at page formats, read content formats AI assistants extract most easily.
