Get Your Brand Recommended by Claude: A 6-Step Plan
A practical, step-by-step plan to improve the chances that Claude mentions your brand when customers ask for recommendations in your category.
⚫ Millions ask AI daily ➜ 🔵 AI recommends YOU ➜ ⚫ Prospects visit your site ➜ 🔵 Convert to customers
To get your brand recommended by Claude, you need to be the clearest, best-documented answer to the questions your buyers ask. That means knowing those questions, publishing pages that answer them, keeping your facts consistent everywhere, and earning mentions on sites Claude is likely to read. Nobody can force a recommendation, but this plan improves your odds.
Step 1: Write down 20 real buyer questions
Start with the words customers use, not your internal product names. Ask your sales team and look at support emails. A bakery supplier might list “where to buy wholesale flour in Lyon” and “organic flour supplier for small bakeries”. A software company might list “project tool for a 10-person design studio”. Group the questions by intent: comparison, problem, location and price.
Step 2: Ask Claude those questions and record the answers
Run each question in Claude and note three things: are you mentioned, who is mentioned instead, and what sources or reasons are given. Repeat with web search on and off if your plan allows it, because answers can differ. This is your baseline. Without it, you cannot tell later whether your work changed anything.
Step 3: Fix the facts about your brand
Check your website, Google Business Profile, Bing Places, LinkedIn, industry directories and review sites. Your name, address, founding year, services, prices and key numbers should match. Old pages with outdated prices or a former address confuse AI systems as much as people. If something is wrong in answers already, our guide on correcting wrong AI information about your business walks through the fixes.
Step 4: Publish one strong page per question group
For each group from Step 1, create a page that answers it directly in the first few lines. Good formats include:
- A “who we are for” page that names the exact customer types you serve.
- Comparison pages that fairly explain how you differ from common alternatives.
- Pricing pages with real numbers or clear ranges.
- FAQ sections written in the way buyers phrase questions.
Use plain text, clear headings and simple lists. Avoid hiding key facts in images or PDFs.
Step 5: Earn mentions outside your own site
AI assistants weigh what others say about you, not only what you say about yourself. Useful sources include trade publications, local business associations, podcasts in your niche, partner pages and genuine customer reviews. Pitch a guest article, share data you actually have, or get listed in respected directories for your industry. Skip paid link schemes and fake reviews; they can harm trust and break platform rules.
Step 6: Re-test every month and adjust
Run the same questions again. Look for movement: are you now mentioned for some prompts, or described more accurately? Where you are still missing, look at what the mentioned competitors have that you lack, such as a comparison page or more reviews, and close that gap. Expect this to take months, not days. Model updates and web changes mean results move over time.
A quick example
Picture a physiotherapy clinic in Nantes. Its baseline shows that Claude names two competitors for “sports physio in Nantes”. Both have detailed service pages and many reviews. The clinic adds a clear sports injury page, fixes an old address on two directories and asks happy patients for honest reviews. Months later it checks again. There is no promise it will appear, but it has removed the obvious reasons it was left out.
