Why Gemini Misses Some of Your Products and How to Fix It
Gemini lists your competitors’ products but not yours, or only part of your range. Here is what Gemini relies on and how to make your products easier to find.

Gemini misses products when it cannot find clear, consistent information about them on the web or in Google’s product data. It draws on its training data and on Google Search results, so products with thin pages, poor feeds or little outside coverage are easy to overlook. There is no way to submit products directly into Gemini’s knowledge, but you can make each product far easier to find and understand.
How Gemini finds product information
Gemini is Google’s AI assistant and is closely connected to Google Search. When it answers product questions, it can use web pages that Google has indexed and, in some shopping experiences, product information from Google’s shopping data, which merchants can supply through Google Merchant Center. That means classic search basics matter a lot here. Learn more in how to rank in Gemini AI search results.
Step 1: Check which products are missing
Make a list of your products and ask Gemini about each one: “What is [product name]?”, “Does [brand] make a [product type]?”, “Best [category] for [use case]”. Mark which products Gemini knows, which it confuses, and which it ignores. Missing products often share a pattern, such as being new, being sold only in one country, or having very short pages.
Step 2: Make sure Google can index each product
- Every product has its own indexable URL, not only a variant inside a filter.
- The page is not blocked by robots.txt or marked noindex.
- The product name, description and price are in the page HTML.
- Product pages are in your XML sitemap.
- Google Search Console shows the pages as indexed. If not, check the reason given.
Step 3: Improve product pages
- Write a unique description that explains what the product is, who it is for and how it differs from your other products.
- List specifications in a clear table.
- Add Product structured data with name, brand, price, availability and identifiers such as GTIN where you have them.
- Add a few real customer questions and answers.
- Link to the product from relevant category pages and guides, so it is not an orphan page.
Step 4: Use Google Merchant Center
If you sell online, set up or review your Merchant Center product feed. Fix disapproved items, use full product titles, keep prices and stock in sync, and include identifiers. A clean feed helps Google understand your catalogue, which can support how products appear in Google’s shopping features. See getting products into shopping AI tools for more on feeds.
Step 5: Earn mentions beyond your site
Products discussed in reviews, specialist publications, comparison articles and retailer listings are easier for AI to recognise. Send new products to reviewers in your niche, list them with retailers you work with, and publish launch news with clear product names and details. Avoid paid link schemes or fake reviews; they break Google’s rules and can hurt visibility.
Step 6: Recheck regularly
After changes, give Google time to recrawl, then ask Gemini the same questions again. Keep notes per product. For a broader view of product visibility across assistants, read how product brands get suggested in AI shopping answers.
