How Franchises Get Every Location Recommended by AI
AI assistants answer local questions one town at a time. Here is how a franchise keeps every location visible, accurate and consistent in AI answers.

AI assistants recommend franchise locations when they can find clear, consistent facts about each site and real signals that people like it. For a franchise, that means one strong brand presence plus a separate, accurate footprint for every location. Gaps or conflicting details at the local level are the most common reason a location gets skipped.
Why franchises face a special AI visibility problem
A single shop has one address, one phone number and one set of reviews. A franchise with 40 sites has 40 of each, often managed by different owners. When someone asks an assistant “best gym near Part-Dieu in Lyon” or “is there a kids’ coding school franchise in Leeds”, the AI looks for a location that clearly matches the place and the need. If the brand website lists only a store finder that loads with JavaScript, or a location closed last year still appears in directories, the AI may describe the wrong site or ignore the brand.
The brand name helps, but it does not carry each location on its own. AI assistants that use live web results, such as ChatGPT with browsing, Copilot through Bing, or Google AI Overviews, pull local details from pages and listings they can read.
Build one crawlable page per location
Every location should have its own page on the main website with a stable URL, for example /locations/lyon-part-dieu/. Each page should include:
- The full address, phone number and opening hours written as plain text, not only inside a map widget.
- A short description of what makes this site different: parking, languages spoken, services only offered here.
- Local proof such as the team, nearby landmarks and the neighbourhoods it serves.
- Structured data (LocalBusiness schema) with the same facts. See our guide to JSON-LD for company information.
Avoid copying the same paragraph into every page and swapping the town name. Thin, duplicated pages give AI little reason to pick one location over a local competitor.
Keep listings consistent across the network
AI systems compare sources. If Google Business Profile says the Lille site closes at 20:00, Apple Maps says 21:00 and the franchise page says 19:00, the assistant has no clear answer. Set up a simple process:
- Keep a central sheet with the official name, address, phone and hours of every site.
- Give franchisees a clear way to report changes, and update all listings from that sheet.
- Check the major maps and directories every quarter, and close or merge listings for sites that moved or shut.
Our page on directory listings for AI crawlers covers which listings matter most.
Earn local reviews and mentions honestly
Local recommendations lean on what customers and local sources say. Encourage each location to ask happy customers for reviews after a visit, reply to reviews politely, and take part in real local life: sponsoring a school event, appearing in a city guide, partnering with nearby businesses. Never buy reviews or ask staff to post them. Fake reviews break platform rules and can get listings removed, which hurts every location under the brand.
Track visibility location by location
A franchise brand can look strong nationally while half its sites are invisible locally. Test the prompts real customers use, town by town: “best [service] in [city]”, “[brand] near [district] opening hours”, “[service] open on Sunday in [city]”. Note which locations appear, which competitors appear instead, and whether the details are correct. Repeat monthly, because AI answers change as sources change. How Keboost helps franchise brands
Keboost tracks the prompts customers ask across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot and other assistants, and shows where your locations and competitors appear. It highlights wrong or missing details and helps you create and distribute focused content so AI assistants can find each site. It cannot promise that a location will be recommended, but it shows you exactly where to improve the chances. Run a free AI visibility check to see how your locations show up today, or compare plans on our pricing page.
