How to Announce a Partnership So AI Describes It Correctly
A step-by-step guide to announcing a business partnership so the facts are clear, consistent and picked up correctly by AI assistants.

A partnership announcement helps AI visibility when both companies publish the same clear facts: who the partners are, what the partnership does, who benefits and from when. When the news appears on both websites, in partner directories and in relevant media, assistants can describe the relationship accurately. Vague or inflated announcements can lead to confusing or wrong answers.
Agree on the Facts Before Anything Goes Out
Write a short shared fact list with your partner:
- Official names of both companies
- Type of partnership: integration, reseller, referral, joint product, distribution
- What customers can now do that they could not before
- Which countries, products or customer types it covers
- Start date and where to find more information
Use the exact same wording in every place. If one side calls it “an integration” and the other “a strategic alliance”, assistants may describe it differently each time.
Be Careful With the Word “Partner”
Describe the relationship as it really is. A listing in someone’s app marketplace is not the same as a formal partnership. Claiming to be an “official partner” of a large technology company when you are not can mislead buyers and may break that company’s brand rules. This matters in AI answers too: inflated claims can be repeated and then contradicted by other sources.
Where to Publish
- Your news page: a dated announcement written in plain language, starting with a one-sentence summary.
- Your partner’s site: their news page and, if they have one, their partner or integrations directory.
- Your product pages: add the partnership where it matters to customers, such as an “Integrations” section.
- Trade media: send a short release to publications your shared customers read. See press release distribution for AI.
- Profiles: update marketplace listings and business profiles that mention integrations or resellers.
Write for the Customer, Not the Boardroom
“We are excited to announce a synergistic collaboration” tells an assistant nothing. “Customers of Lumo Bookings can now take payments through Paylink in Spain and Portugal, starting 1 March” is easy to understand and quote. Include one concrete example of how a customer uses it.

Plan for the Questions People Will Ask
Buyers might ask an assistant “Does Lumo work with Paylink?” or “Which booking tools integrate with Paylink in Spain?” Add a short FAQ to your announcement or integration page that answers these directly, including costs and limits.
Keep It Up to Date
If a partnership ends or changes, update your pages and ask your former partner to do the same. Old announcements left untouched are a common cause of AI describing relationships that no longer exist. Add a note to the original post rather than deleting it without a redirect.
Check How AI Reports It
A few weeks after the announcement, ask assistants about the partnership in several ways. If the facts are wrong, find the source and correct it. Our guide on rewriting pages AI misunderstands covers this process.
Coordinate the Timing
Publish on both websites on the same day if you can. When one side announces weeks before the other, early sources may describe the partnership incompletely, and those versions can linger.
